Styles for the Second-Time Bride

There is one great benefit to getting married again -- experience. You're older, wiser, you know how to compromise (the secret to any relationship). What you probably don't know is what to wear. The answer? Whatever you want. A pale pink sheath? Sure. An A-line in ivory? You bet. A full white ball gown -- why not? As long as you feel comfortable, anything goes -- with the possible of exception of long trains and veils, usually reserved for first-time brides.

To help make your selection process a little easier, we've rounded up a few of our favorite second-timer looks -- from a fashion-forward tea-length dress, to a regal A-line. Whatever you wear, know this: A second wedding is a second chance to shine. Take advantage of it.

Off Color and In Fashion

Who says you have to wear white? Especially if it's your second time down the aisle -- embrace the colorful gowns that have been coming down the bridal runways like Kenneth Pool's purple A-line gown. Great for many body shapes, this gown is regal and classic in shape, while memorable in shade.

50's Vibe

Whether you're off to a daytime garden party wedding or you're getting hitched at city hall, a 50's-inspired classic tea length gown, like those by Monique Lhuillier, is as sweet as it is chic . The layers of tulle make these dresses light and comfortable for carefree movement on the dance floor.

High Styling

Go with the neckline of the moment with a V-neck sheath, like those designed by Anne Barge . Embroidery details add texture and curve-accentuating the silhouette is complimentary, not skin tight.

Modern Romantic

A contemporary look for the second-timer who wants to be covered up, a lace ensemble, like those from Christos, goes the distance. The long sleeves are sheer so they cover while still revealing skin. The perfect look for a sophisticated bride -- keep the accessories minimal and let your outfit shine.
